Three days later, the selected participants for the exhibition match finally appeared before the public, sparking widespread discussion and envy among the spectators. Some people felt extremely lucky to witness General Gu Huan and His Royal Highness perform in person.

After the opponents for the exhibition match were determined, there were mixed emotions among the contenders. While Mo Xiao had prepared extensively and felt disappointed not to be chosen, Andrew had a different perspective. He had never wanted trouble and aimed to avoid defeat, so escaping this competition was a relief.

Andrew comforted Mo Xiao, saying, “Captain, don’t be disappointed. It’s already a good outcome. At least you can see them up close.” Since it was a match between a General and the Crown Prince, the audience turnout was substantial, and the top ten on the sponsorship list had special seats.

Mo Xiao closed the comments, ignoring discussions about the General and the Crown Prince. Then, Andrew suddenly exclaimed, “The General has arrived at the training ground!” As the training ground was divided into multiple zones, even within the same facility, Gu Huan could be quite far from their location. However, Andrew had spotted Gu Huan in the surveillance feed.

Upon Andrew’s alert, Mo Xiao also opened the surveillance video of the training ground. When she saw the man standing next to the General, her pupils suddenly contracted, and she bit her lip, her eyebrows furrowing slightly.

“Fang Yuanqi has made a new mecha for you,”

“He heard we are participating in a mecha competition, so he specially made a new virtual mecha for you.” Gu Huan said

Chu Xinglin furrowed his brows slightly. “Hasn’t he been helping you make SSS-class mechas all along?”

Why would he suddenly have time to do this?

Gu Huan hadn’t expected Chu Xinglin to remember this and be so perceptive. His tone faltered a bit. “An ultra-SSS-class mecha isn’t necessary at the moment, so I had them stop working on it.”

“You finally arrived!”

Fang Yuanqi waved and jumped down from an all-black mecha. Upon seeing the magnificent black mecha with golden patterns, Chu Xinglin fell in love with it, as the color scheme was reminiscent of Gu Huan.

“Is this the SSS-class mecha you made for me?”

“Yes, how is it? Would you like to try it out in the virtual mecha yourself?” Fang Yuanqi asked proudly.

Chu Xinglin glanced at Gu Huan before retracting his gaze and replied, “Sure.”

After putting on the holographic glasses and displaying some impressive moves in the virtual battlefield, Chu Xinglin took off the glasses.

Gu Huan had watched the entire process and praised, “You did a great job.”

“Hehe, it’s the least I could do.” Fang Yuanqi rubbed his head.

Having been with the General for so long, it seemed like he had been smoothed out by society. Being pampered by the design team members and receiving occasional praises and minor punishments from Gu Huan made him feel at home. He was truly getting used to the days of working for Gu Huan.

“So it seems like you won’t have to take action in this exhibition match,” Chu Xinglin smirked.

Gu Huan didn’t have any objections to that. After all, it was just an exhibition match within a virtual battlefield. Moreover, Chu Xinglin’s combat abilities were already very high, so there was no need to worry about him being at a disadvantage.

While Chu Xinglin was having a separate conversation with Fang Yuanqi to gather information, two people approached Gu Huan.

“General.”

“Are you also training?” he asked.

“Yes, General,” Andrew replied, scratching his head. “Originally, we wanted to try our luck and registered as a team for your exhibition match, but we weren’t selected. With so many people applying, the chances were too small.”

Gu Huan shook his head and told Andrew the truth. “This exhibition match has another purpose. We anticipated that someone would manipulate the registration system. Regardless of how many people applied, the final selected team would be them.”

Andrew put his hand down from his head, feeling a bit angry. So, it had nothing to do with luck; someone was cheating.

Mo Xiao, who had been silent, had a different focus than Andrew. She furrowed her brows slightly and asked, “Who are they, and why are they worth you personally acting as bait?”

The black-haired general’s lips curled up slightly in a somewhat cryptic smile as he replied softly, “They are related to Chu Fengyuan.”

Mo Xiao and Andrew fell silent for a moment. Since it was related to Chu Fengyuan, it indeed had to be taken seriously.

“Is there anything I can help with, General? Please, let me assist with this matter,” Mo Xiao offered.

Gu Huan looked at Mo Xiao. She had made significant contributions on gn777 Planet, displaying great courage in combating the Zerg swarms during the Zerg tide and excelling in collecting information.

He trusted her wholeheartedly.

Gu Huan’s gaze flickered slightly. “If you find the location of those two girls, take your team with the Crown Prince’s Special Guard Unit and go there. Report any information to me immediately.”

“Yes, General,” Mo Xiao replied promptly.

“What are you talking about?” Chu Xinglin approached just as Mo Xiao agreed.

Mo Xiao turned her head, her eyes incredibly sharp. Chu Xinglin felt as if he had committed some grave offense, given the intensity of her stare.

Did he do something so terrible? They had competed for a ranking, but he had stopped later on. Moreover, Mo Xiao didn’t know that he was the one competing with her. The people from the magazine couldn’t possibly reveal his identity, as his ID was highly confidential.

Mo Xiao remained composed and saluted, standing behind Gu Huan.

The golden-haired alpha was somewhat puzzled by his thoughts, but Gu Huan interrupted his train of thought and said, “For this mission, let Mo Xiao lead a team with you.”

“Alright,” Chu Xinglin agreed readily.

There shouldn’t be any problem with that. However, Chu Xinglin couldn’t shake off a vague sense of foreboding in his heart.
